Ardino was asked to New York on her most recent venture as Hair Director for Australian designer JohannaJohnson. Maria headed up a team of 6 Australian LA BIOSTHETIQUE stylists. The collection, called “The Muse” which would show in New York in the newly restored Highline Hotel. Maria worked with Johanna Johnson on the direction of the hair with the look of the handmade gowns which was very New York 20′s when women dressed for events. Architectural but right for the modern women, whether on her wedding day or a red carpet event, the Johanna Jonson gowns were breathtaking. Maria created the look that was a modern version of a 20s style. The look was all about the 3 crimped plaited buns that she created specifically to suit the delicate headpieces.
Gatsby hair was created by Maria Ardino and Mel Poyner for Vogue and Tiffany and Co jewels launch at Rockpool. At the glamorous Vogue event the guests included were Baz Laurman, Catherine Martin, Carey Mulligan, Ricky Martin, Edwinna Mccann to name a few.
Maria had the privilege to use the original hair Jewels worn by Daisy, Carrie Mulligan in The Great Gatsby. Gowns were by Johanna Johnson and Collette Dinnigan. Styling by Vogue
