Maria Ardino always wanted to be a hairdresser. There was no Plan B! As a child, her parents owned a business next door to a hair salon and Maria was mesmerised by the aura and the buzz. She became passionate about hairdressing.

After training, she opened her Sydney salon ‘Ardino’ aged just 21 with the philosophy that good service and hard work would lead to success. Her passion and professionalism launched a career which has seen her become one of the most well-respected hair stylists in the industry.

Maria has built Ardino into a hair and beauty destination on Sydney’s Oxford Street, complete with café and a beauty sanctuary amongst the treetops.

She has worked extensively with Wella and Redken Professional and is currently the Australian and New Zealand Expert Educator and Ambassador for La Biosthetique.

Her client list includes magazine editors and identities, Sydney creatives and professionals, brides and an extremely loyal clientele. Alongside running a busy salon, Maria as Hair Director, has led teams at Australian Fashion Week for Redken and in New York for La Biosthetique.

In her role as an ambassador with La Biosthetique, Maria is part of the brand’s Education Program and creates workshops and training programs to inspire up-and-coming talent in Australia and New Zealand.

Maria’s signatures are her precision cutting and meticulous colour expertise. Her speciality is ‘ The total colour and cut transformation.’ She is responsible for Sarah Wilson’s makeover from long, brunette lengths to blonder, shoulder-skimming waves.

‘When someone needs big change, or they are looking to start a new phase, they know they can trust my professional opinion,’ says Maria. ‘I listen, I look and I take them to the next level.’

In 2018, her passion for the industry remains, as she leads the talented team at Ardino.
